In Homelessness, provost innovation challenge, Trinity College Dublin

A huge thank you to everyone who voted and shared this campaign!

This is the first year that Trinity ran the Provosts Innovation Challenge @ Tangent – a social innovation programme which supports Trinity students in making a tangible impact on a global problem.

Through the campaigns, the college community had the opportunity to vote on a number of social issues for the Provosts Challenge which included; Migration, Reliance on Plastics, Homelessness, Privacy & Data Protection, Pollution & Healthcare Inefficiencies.

You have had your say and the votes are in!

You chose Homelessness as the problem to address in this year’s challenge. Thank you to everyone who participated and to those students who took part in Hacking Homelessness from the 22nd – 24th of March.

This hackathon allowed students to explore turning their ideas into tangible ventures and the opportunity to win 10K of funding to support their idea over this summer’s accelerator programme.

The winner of the Provost’s Innovation Challenge @ Tangent was – The Homeless Wallet and The EcoSystem. The Homeless Wallet enables cashless and transparent donation via a blockchain digital wallet, while The EcoSystem’s mission is to create sustainable communities for the homeless with a smart approach to space and accommodation.

We are very excited for what the future holds for these two projects and thank you again for the change that you have inspired!
