New: Wildflowers in Trinity to boost city biodiversity
Today sees the launch of Trinity College Dublin’s wildflower meadow campaign. Over the coming 7 days students, staff and the wider public can vote to transform the lawns outside of the university’s front gate into a wildflower meadow. Creating a biodiversity and insect haven in the heart of the city.
Lawn-mowing, ground preparation and pesticide control can disturb important insects that feed and nest in the soil. Planting wildflowers and minimising interference, by contrast, can support biodiversity and provide a habitat for native insects and food for pollinators in the city centre.
Sustainable cities embrace and nourish nature!
