New: IT Sligo – Protecting Nature
Today is the launch of IT Sligo’s campaign Protecting Nature. A two-week campaign with the aim to drum up awareness and support for 3 charities working to support biodiversity and Nature regeneration projects.
The Protecting Nature campaign is a direct result of taking student feedback onboard. IT Sligo decided to use the €3,000 normally spent on purchasing the reusable water bottles offered in the student ‘Induction Welcome packs’ and instead create a fund that go towards charities that support Nature in other ways.
The charities are: The Amazon Conservation Association that works with protection and restoration projects in the western Amazon, The Vincent Wildlife Trust that is an Irish charity protecting mammals in need and that is supporting Irish biodiversity through research, education, training and advocacy, or Hometree, which is a registered charity on the west coast of Ireland that improves biodiversity by planting trees.
